BY LAWS OF THE CLUB
1. VENUE
• Place: Herne BAY Judo Club, Station Road, Herne Bay
• Time Monday evenings 7.00 p.m. 10.00 p.m.
• Responsibility The Committee to see hall is opened and securely closed at end of evening and any keys returned to correct place.
2. EQUIPMENT
• No clothing or equipment to be removed from the hall without permission of a committee member.
• The condition of the equipment will be checked on a regular basis and documented
• Condition and repairs to be responsibility of member appointed by Committee.
• Committee empowered to sanction repair costs and new purchases as and when deemed necessary and possible.
3. SAFETY
• One senior member over 18 and tutor, or two senior members over 18 to be in attendance when Club is open.
• Masks, jackets (with protectors for females) and gloves to be worn and properly adjusted at all times on piste and when under training with weapons. Plastrons to be worn at all times
• Senior members and tutor to see beginners and junior members under their charge conform to these requirements at all times and to encourage safety aspects by their own example.
4. TRAINING, COMPETITION AND PROMOTIONAL EVENTS
• Committee in conjunction with tutor to provide training courses and make arrangements to enable and encourage members to take their awards and enter competitions both locally and nationally.
• Annual club championships to be run in all three weapons if possible.
• The Committee to be responsible for advertising and all promotional events to increase membership.
• Promotional events, training and competitions ARE not necessarily restricted to Monday evenings if deemed advantageous to club to stage at other times.
5. FINANCE
• An account or accounts to be held with the Nationwide or other financial institutions in the name of the Club. Any two of three named committee members are required to sign for withdrawals.
• Treasurer responsible for cash in hand, prompt payment of bills, fees etc. Accumulation of funds to be suitably invested
• The Committee, at its discretion, may encourage arranging of fund raising events.
• Subscriptions
i. Junior membership: £40 per annum [from 1st May 2004] or payable in £25 half yearly instalments
ii. Senior membership: £90 per annum.[from1" May 2004] or payable in £50 half yearly instalments
• Evening Fee
i. Subscribed members £3.00. [from May 2006]
ii. Non members £5.00.
• The Committee may approve at their discretion a proportional subscription for persons resident in the area for 6 months or less in the year and persons joining the club mid year.
6. MEMBERSHIP AND DISCIPLINE.
• All fencers are required to register before commencing activities and on leaving the premises
• All club members must be members of the BFA at the appropriate level
• Members are reminded that they fence at their own risk and are responsible for their own personal property and actions including care of the premises.
• All matters concerning discipline will be dealt with by the Committee whose decision will be final.
• The Committee is empowered to act in any other matter concerning the running and well being of the Club consistent and in accordance with the Constitution.
