At the age of 16, I started coaching (assisting) and due to the death of my coach I became the youngest ever coach of a club at 17. At the age of 18 I became the youngest ever full time professional fencing coach in the UK and at the age of 19 I coached the biggest club in Scotland (Highland Fencing School) with over 300 fencers in the Highlands of Scotland attending each week.
From 1998 to 2001 as well as running Highland Fencing School I studied at Semmelweis University in Budapest and worked at the world famous Honved Club in Budapest as part of my International Fencing Masters Diploma which I passed in 2001.
In order to gain experience I worked with European and World Champions under the tutorage of Zoltan Bernartd then Hungary's U20 ladies foil coach now working with their senior National Team.
I worked with Zsolt Nemeth and many of his pupils (4th in Barcelona Olympic Games) from 2000-2001
Gabor Bognar was my Epee coach (Senior coach educator of both Hungary and Great Britain) He has been coach to numerous World and Olympic champions in both fencing and modern pentathlon. 1999-2001
Peter Frohlich was my coach for sabre (GB Olympic coach 1992, 1996, 2000) Coach to James Williams and many members of Hungarian Team at U20 and senior level. 1999-2001
I was British coach to the Ladies Epee Team in Koblenz at the European Championships in 2001 and in Lisbon at the 2002 World Championships. In Koblenz we finished 8th beating the hosts Germany fielding a team of several World and Olympic Champions.
I currently hold the record (According to Ziemek Wojikowski GB foil coach) for being the youngest National coach of any team at both European and World Championships. I was 21 in Koblenz and 23 in Lisbon.
I have taught numerous National and GB Champions and team members at all weapons at various age group with many coached by me from the beginning.
